Rick Warren was truly touched by the Holy Spirit when he wrote this book. Every page is laden with useful information on what God has planned for you and your life. It's a must have for spiritual growth. Are you searching for your purpose in life. Then this is the book for you.
Everyone needs to read this book. I gave this to a friend after I read the book- it is wonderful and very helpful to both of us.
I can tell you that you will definitely learn just how to go about doing all these things. For whatever reason, I strayed from God and His Word over the years. Also, try to form a small group to read the book along with you, and then discuss what you learn at the end of the week. The Purpose Driven Life will teach you how to please God and not how to please yourself. Now, in my mid-twenties, I have felt a great desire to know Jesus and experience His compassion. If you have felt guilty before about not being as close to God as you know you should be, but you have excused yourself by claiming to not know how to draw closer to God, then this book will teach you what you need to know; however, what will your excuse be if you fail to act after reading The Purpose Driven Life.I am currently meditating on this very question. I highly recommend reading one chapter per day, writing notes and meditating on what you learn each day. I am up for the challenge, but know that the road will be long.
Rick Warren takes you through a 40-day passage that will teach you how to Worship God, how to love and fellowship with other believers, how to become Christ-like, how to become a servant, and how to tell others about God. I feel compelled to warn you that if you plan to read The Purpose Driven Life, you must commit to act on what you learn at the end of your 40-day journey. Indeed, The Purpose Driven Life will make you feel special, but only within the confines of God's family. I loved this book and am buying a copy for every member of my family. I cannot see how non-Christians would appreciate the book, as it is full of Bible references and the aim of the Book is to teach the reader how to live your life according to God's will.
I needed to warn you of this before I tell you how great the book is.The Purpose Driven Life is an excellent book for Christians. I am now going back and reviewing each chapter, because I feel that I ingested too much information in too short of a period. This, to me, is the ideal way to read The Purpose Driven Life. I read the book on my own, and read multiple chapters per day. The problem becomes, will you do what God wants you to do, and abandon your current way of living to live God according to HIS plan. Note: I encourage everyone to read The Purpose Driven Life as Pastor Warren recommends. As a child, I was an altar server and prayed every night, and even read The Bible with frequency.
This is not the typical self-help book that will tell you how great you are and that you can do it all. Many of God's callings run against what comes natural to us as human beings. I recently got married and realized that I need to rear my family in the Church and learning God's Word. Will you not mind that it will be inconvenient and difficult.I know I need to take action on what I have learned, but it is not easy.
This book will not teach you much about the Bible that you didn't already know, but Mr. I've studied the Bible for over 25 years and this book still had a great impact on my life. Five W's of God Warren will make you think about what you can do to do more of God's work and less of your own, a way of giving back and bettering the world with God's love and wisdom. I couldn't wait 40 days to read it as suggested but finished it as fast as I could. Even with my extensive background on the Bible, this book helped define a better purpose for my life and inspired me to implement it by writing my book.
